Safety Manager

Job Summary

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs that ensure a safe work environment across all project sites. This role conducts jobsite assessments, facilitates training, supports regulatory compliance, and collaborates with project leadership to promote a strong safety culture. The individual provides coaching, guidance, and corrective action recommendations to reduce risk, prevent injuries, and ensure adherence to company and regulatory safety standards.

Job Responsibilities




  • Develop and manage the administration of project and company accident prevention programs.



  • Create and facilitate safety training programs that support employee competency and compliance.



  • Conduct work area assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.



  • Develop, organize, and implement safety programs aligned with company standards.



  • Perform and document jobsite inspections and audits with emphasis on hazard recognition and unsafe behaviors.



  • Coordinate and lead safety meetings and training sessions to maintain consistent communication across teams.



  • Participate in regulatory inspections and investigations to support compliance with federal and state requirements.



  • Review job hazard analyses for major project phases to ensure accuracy and completeness.



  • Support foremen and general foremen in developing job hazard analyses.



  • Evaluate safety program effectiveness through daily field walks, compliance reviews, and audits.



  • Meet regularly with field personnel to support project-specific corrective action plans.



  • Provide constructive feedback to project leadership on safety performance and opportunities for improvement.



  • Coach and mentor employees to reinforce safe behaviors and address unsafe practices.



  • Assist in delivering jobsite-specific safety orientations for new employees.



  • Support project leadership in incident investigations, including documentation and follow-up.



  • Help lead safety recognition initiatives and support ongoing efforts to improve safety culture.



  • Facilitate injury and illness case management, including workers' compensation processes.




Job Requirements




  • Bachelor's degree required.



  • Minimum of three years of construction safety experience.



  • OSHA 30 Construction certification required.



  • Experience working with a union workforce preferred.



  • Experience supporting data center projects preferred.



  • Ability to work independently with strong communication and influence skills.



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.



  • Ability to walk construction sites for extended periods.
