Job Summary
The OSP Foreman supports the delivery and execution of outside plant (OSP) infrastructure activities across project sites. This role leads field technicians, monitors safety and productivity, ensures quality standards are met, and collaborates with project management to support successful installation, deployment, and maintenance of OSP systems. The OSP Foreman provides daily oversight, communicates project progress, identifies training needs, and maintains accurate documentation while ensuring all work aligns with customer expectations and industry best practices. Job Responsibilities
Travel to project locations as required for extended periods.
Report directly to the onsite OSP superintendent and follow established schedules, directives, and requests.
Ensure daily time entry compliance to support accurate technician timekeeping.
Capture weekly updates from leads and submit reports to the OSP superintendent.
Attend weekly coordination meetings with the OSP superintendent.
Oversee scheduled milestones and ensure adherence to productivity expectations.
Monitor site safety conditions and ensure compliance with all safety standards.
Coordinate work activities with OSP field technicians and other trade contractors.
Manage labor resources and oversee daily work assignments.
Ensure all work meets customer quality standards and project requirements.
Assess strengths and development needs of OSP field technicians and recommend appropriate training.
Ensure all field technicians follow customer rules, guidelines, and processes.
Validate project data and track quality, efficiency, and delivery performance.
Verify that required materials are available to complete project builds.
Participate in customer design and build review meetings when requested.
Support both new deployments and live-site/production requests.
Encourage the adoption of new technologies, tools, and software in collaboration with project management.
Ensure compliance with all safety certifications and requirements throughout installation activities.
Job Requirements
Five or more years of experience in the installation of OSP infrastructure, including Maxcell, innerduct, microduct, fiber cable, microcable, and associated equipment preferred.
Ability to lead multiple crews and manage midsize to large projects.
Strong prioritization and time management skills.
Ability to forecast client needs and labor requirements.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to document lessons learned and maintain accurate project documentation.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of OSP builds, as well as copper and fiber installation, terminations, certifications, and troubleshooting.
Strong customer service skills.
Knowledge of regional installation standards and codes.
Ability to document team strengths, development, and growth.
Clear understanding of job safety requirements and points of contact.
Physical Requirements
Frequent walking, standing, and bending with occasional sitting.
Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, visual, and listening skills.
Manual dexterity to operate equipment, tools, and computers.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to pull cables as needed.
