Job Summary (Primary function)
The Sr Director, Human Resources will be responsible for providing human resource support to a specific client group within the organization. This is a true generalist position that is responsible for all aspects of human resource management. The position will report to the Executive Vice President, Human Resources.

Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)

  • Complies with human resource legal mandates, such as FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and Title VII.
  • Will lead assigned human resource projects related to continuous improvement.
  • Communicates, interprets, and implements HR policies as needed.
  • Review and approve performance appraisals, job evaluations, and corrective/disciplinary action, ensuring consistency in administration.
  • Provide training as necessary or feasible (e.g., workplace harassment prevention, leadership seminars, etc.).
  • Act as a source of feedback for managers regarding trends in employee concerns/issues and provide recommendations.
  • Effectively handles and resolves employee relations and performance issues in collaboration with team leaders.
  • Facilitates compensation forecast and performance management process for client groups (including merit increase, bonus, and equity recommendations; performance review submission, review, and approval).
  • Coordinates the recruiting, interviewing, and selection of candidates. Ensures compliance to EEOC requirements (e.g. requisition approval, sourcing, interviews, and offer).

Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)

  • Bachelors Degree required, in Human Resources Management/Administration or related field preferred.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience as a Human Resource Generalist in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech Industry required.
  • Prior experience working with a mid-size, growing organization.
  • Must have experience in employee relations, recruiting, and compensation planning. Able to work in a fast-paced environment; proactive in identification of issues.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to be flexible and nimble.
  • Able to manage projects and analyze data - make recommendations.
