Mechanical Engineer - Plant Operations

Location: Ewing, NJ | Full-Time/Direct Hire

Salary: $45,000 - $48,000

Shift: Day Shift (Flex)

Staffmark is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support plant operations, maintenance, and production optimization. Work with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, lead preventive maintenance programs, and drive process improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain plant equipment; design and implement preventive maintenance programs.
• Interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics; develop simple CAD designs for tooling and fixtures.
• Lead capital projects and equipment installations; coordinate with contractors and internal teams.
• Manage spare parts inventory and assist with procurement for cost-effective, timely solutions.
• Maintain SOPs, equipment logs, and documentation; provide training to engineers and mechanics.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
• 1 year of experience with plant equipment, automation systems, and preventive maintenance.
• Proficient in CAD, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and multi-tasking skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
