About the Opportunity:

We're looking for an experienced Quality Engineer responsible for maintaining a product quality and inspection system consistent with the plant's quality policies and objectives including, but not limited to, dimensional, metallurgical, NDT and part traceability.

Quality Engineer

Location: Onsite in Cleveland, Ohio

Responsibilities:

  • Lead chemical processing special processes to ensure conformance to AS9100 and NADCAP requirements.
  • Support other quality management system activities. (AS9100, AS13100, NADCAP)
  • Maintain systems and records to assure chemical materials are received in accordance with Pursuit PO and customer requirements.
  • Maintain systems and records to ensure chemicals are controlled throughout the process including expiration and shelf-life.
  • Participate in corrective actions to ensure effectiveness of actions using tools such as 5-Why and 8D.
  • Participate in continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen, LEAN, etc.
  • Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to production of new products are in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system and customer requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determining proper corrective and preventive actions.
  • Occasionally, participate in contract review process to ensure customer requirements can be met and are effectively incorporated in QMS.
  • Work with customer auditors to facilitate audits, close out audit findings using proper corrective and preventative actions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, material science, metallurgy or suitable technical area.
  • Related experience and training in quality systems including AS9100 and NADCAP.
  • Experience in database systems and software for management of quality requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Utilize comprehensive knowledge quality best practices and industry/customer standards.
  • Extensive experience in approval process of aerospace customers (preferred: GE, Pratt & Whitney, Honeywell, Bell)
  • Capable of developing systems to support AS9100, NADCAP, and Customer requirements.
  • Excellent computer skills (Including, but not limited to: Windows, Office (Word, Excel, Access), CAD, Visio, Project Manager, and Internet).

Working Conditions:

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to travel between locations or to suppliers up to 25% of time.
