Position SummaryUNM School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation is an academic-affiliated medical center that is seeking an experienced and dynamic physician leader to serve as the Program Director for our ACGME-accredited Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Residency Program. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the next generation of physiatrists through a robust academic training program in a mission-driven, state-supported medical center. The Program Director will be responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and accreditation of the residency program, ensuring compliance with ACGME requirements while fostering excellence in education, clinical training, mentorship, and faculty development. We are seeking candidates who are board-certified (or eligible) in PM&R and who meet all ACGME criteria for program director eligibility. Faculty rank and clinical focus within PM&R are flexible, and the candidate may come from any subspecialty within PM&R. With a catchment population of over 800,000 and very little competition, the UNM hospital is a 618-bed, Level 1 trauma center servicing a state with a very strong need for PM&R services. Applicants with diverse interests in PM&R are all welcome and will be well-supported with the multi-specialty team focusing on using a wide range of minimally invasive surgical and non-surgical techniques.
