POSITION SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Supervisor ensures employee safety, product quality, cost minimization, inventory control, and proficient warehouse planning in the Supply Chain department through effectively communicating and planning with Production operations while leading a team of 10-20 hourly employees on both 1st and 2nd shifts to success by focusing on key performance metrics and creating a sustainable work environment where employees feel engaged, loyal, satisfied and empowered.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure a safe work environment is always maintained throughout the warehouse, shipping, and receiving areas including freezer storage; and, any activities being performed having an environmental impact are communicated and executed according to the environmental management plan.
  • Ensure team is properly trained on competencies, risks, GMPs, warehouse equipment, and PPE.
  • Provide guidance, ongoing coaching, and training to the hourly workforce to ensure production, supply chain and quality goals are met. Lead daily operation reviews to ensure seamless shift handoffs, key operations information is communicated, and root causes to previous issues are identified to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Overseeing the issuing and handling of PIT equipment and collaborate with Safety on the PIT training and certification process for the plant
  • Meet shipping and receiving schedules as well as inventory control and accuracy.
  • Warehouse Supervisor will drive LEAN activities to improve performance.
  • Drive cost savings initiatives to improve the efficiency of the warehouse and help maintain the warehouse budget
  • Ensure all raw materials, packaging materials, WIP and finished goods are handled within GMP and FEFO guidelines.
  • Maintain positive employee relations and open communications while resolving employee discipline or performance issues.
  • Maintain professional relationships with other departments within the plant and corporate offices.
  • Follow all sanitation, GMP, safety, quality and employee relation programs and confirm all processes are run in accordance with SOP's, SOPP's and other documentation while identifying, recommending, developing, and implementing improvements in safety, quality, and process SOP documentation.
  • Meet ad-hoc customer requirements or to deal with unexpected Supply Chain disruptions
  • Responsible for the maintenance and administration of the Material Handling views in SAP.
  • Ensure quality objectives are met through performance of sanitation audits, food safety checks, and product quality checks conducted according to policies. Actively participate in prevention and correction of quality-related errors. Check and enforce personnel hygiene & personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to Nestle policies and external regulations.
  • 1Maintain efficient operations by ensuring employees have adequate cross training and are empowered to make autonomous decisions.
  • Ensure all equipment and installations are well-maintained with safety guards in place.
  • Prioritize, schedule, and ensure maintenance & repairs are completed to maximize efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Logistics, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of leadership experience preferred, preferably in a manufacturing warehouse/DC environment, or 2 years in a leadership role in the United States Military

Work Requirements:

  • Work extended days and/or weekends with flexibility to switch shifts as required
  • Willing to work in a factory where ambient conditions may be extremely cold, wet or warm

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in warehouse operations food processing or packaging
  • Experience in Supply Chain and/or Inventory Control
  • Experience in Quality in a food processing environment.
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement environment (Lean manufacturing or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) preferred)

SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening). Ability to maintain a positive attitude and motivate people Ability to adjust communication style to multiple audiences, facilitate group coaching, and information sharing. Ability to build professional relationships based on trust, mutual respect and open communication. Ability to positively address non-compliance through effective soft skills.
  • Must be willing to face challenging situations and solve problems autonomously.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time through highly developed organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet key performance metrics successfully
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting through root cause problem solving.
  • Follow through on tasks and activities in a timely manner.
  • Intermediate level computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Preferred Computer Skills: SAP, GLOBE, POKA, MRP, and KRONOS

The approximate pay range for this position is $83,000 to $93,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
