Hours: 6:30am-4:00pm Days off rotate weekly. On-Call required

Location: Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS

The Outpatient Services RN plays a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced outpatient environment. This position is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients undergoing outpatient procedures and treatments. The RN serves as a key liaison between patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless coordination of care and optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Provide direct patient care in the outpatient setting, following established nursing standards and protocols.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to ensure safety and quality outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams regarding patient status and treatment plans.
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions.
  • Coordinate patient flow and assist with pre- and post-procedure care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities, staff meetings, and ongoing education.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for other clinical staff as needed.


Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • Current and valid state RN license.
  • Current BLS (AHA or ARC) certificate upon hire and maintained current.
  • Current ACLS (AHA or ARC) 30 days upon hire and maintained.
  • A current PALS (AHA or ARC) certificate is required 30 days upon hire and must be kept current.
  • Previous acute care hospital experience is preferred.
  • Moderate Sedation competency completed within 30 days upon hire.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
