Schedule: 1st OR 2nd Shift

Pay: $20 per hour

Position Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, organizing, storing, and distributing materials to support daily production operations. This role ensures that materials are accurately tracked, properly labeled, and efficiently delivered to designated work areas while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities



  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and products in designated, secure locations.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) records for materials pulled and issued to each job.
  • Organize and manage job baskets, ensuring all required materials are delivered and stocked appropriately.
  • Transport, load, and unload materials, supplies, and finished goods using racks, cages, or other handling equipment.
  • Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing materials when stocking or issuing inventory.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in maintaining optimal material quantities to support production schedules.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by properly disposing of scrap materials, cardboard, and strapping.
  • Support 5S workplace organization standards and participate in toolbox talks as required.
  • Assist with regular inventory counts and labeling of cages, racks, and storage areas.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.



Requirements



  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic math proficiency.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift (training provided if needed).
  • Effective time management and multitasking abilities.


Education and Experience



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or training in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant material handling or warehouse experience required.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred.


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders or lifts.
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. regularly.
  • Must wear appropriate PPE (e.g., gloves, goggles) when handling tools or materials.
