Summary:

Provide secretarial, clerical, and administrative support for one or more of the in-house attorneys for Cook Children's Health Care System (CCHCS).

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.

  • A minimum of 8 years legal office experience.

  • Proficient in spelling, grammar and punctuation.

  • Highly proficient in the use of word processors, calculators, and other office machines.

  • At least ten years computer experience.

  • Typing speed of 65-70 wpm corrected for errors.

  • Cooperative and courteous to visitors and employees, focused on customer service.

  • Initiative and good judgment.

  • Ability to work with minimal or no supervision.

  • Ability to make independent decisions within scope of responsibilities.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Highly proficient in use of specified software used in Legal Department.

  • Ability to do basic legal research.

  • Familiarity with legal terminology, documents and procedures.

Certification/Licensure:

  • Paralegal certification not a requirement, but desired.
