Job Description

As part of the Baseball Research and Development department, the Senior Analyst Baseball Research and Development will deliver research and tools to improve decision making for all Baseball Operations. Working within the Baseball Research and Development Department, the Senior Analyst will work closely with the Baseball Systems team and all other Baseball Operations departments on projects/processes.

Core duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

    Evaluate existing data sources and build predictive or explanatory models to aid in a variety of player acquisition, player development and gameplay decisions
  • Collaborate with other Baseball Operations departments (e.g., Baseball Operations, Player Development, Domestic and International Scouting, High Performance) on studies, models and/or tooling to assist in meeting their specific departmental goals and strategic needs.
  • Participate in cross-departmental initiatives and collaboration efforts.

The ideal candidate will have Advanced degree (Masters/PhD.) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Operations Research, or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates with a proficiency with an analytical software platform required, R or Python preferred
