Civil Engineering Technician

STV has an immediate need in our Waco, TX office for an Engineering Technician in our Transportation division. The successful candidate will:

• Provide professional design services for transportation improvement projects

• Desire to support both alternative delivery and traditional bid-build

• Interact with client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and local/regional leadership teams.

• Design using AutoCAD/Civil3D.

• Coordinate design development and assisting with technical direction to other design staff

• Coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget

• Assist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports

• Establish working relationships and interface with client technical staff and project managers

This is an excellent role for a creative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented professional that enjoys being a part of a team environment and would be a great opportunity for a design engineer to grow technical skills while also leading a multidisciplinary design team. Prior experience leading design efforts would be a plus, but this could also be a next step for someone who has been major design support and is ready to take on the additional responsibility of leading the engineering.

Responsibilities include:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in all technical aspects of civil site design

• Experience with using AutoCAD/Civil3D

• Experience with TXDOT and other TX municipalities is a plus

• Strong inter-personal skills for client and other engineering discipline interaction
