Description

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Summary: Plans and orders Dry and Packaging materials by performing the following duties:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track and publish materials score cards to determine improvement areas.

  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes and production ingredient consumption.

  • Confers with production supervisors to determine the status of assigned projects.

  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.

  • Prepares purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment.

  • Reviews Requisitions and Purchase Orders for incoming merchandise and customer orders in order to plan work activities.

  • Establishes operational procedures for verification of incoming shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, and keeping of warehouse inventory.

  • Directs reclamation of damaged merchandise.

  • Collaborate with Dry Warehouse Supervisor to attain inventory practices enhancements

  • Enhance plant warehouse and material operations through lean manufacturing practices execution

  • Coordinate with the global inventory team to validate and ensure inventory levels and cost accounting accuracy.

  • Translate customer requirements into necessary raw material elements

  • Order timely delivery of raw materials by following purchasing department's buy plan

  • Enhance delivery, quality and cost with suppliers.

  • Follow plant food safety policies and industry best practices.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.

  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a material planner or similar position.

  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Experience with order management software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in material planning or similar position.

  • Proficient with SAP.

  • Experience in food production facility

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
