Position Summary

This position supports the daily operations of ongoing research studies within the Diabetes Research & Treatment Center at the University of New Mexico. It offers hands-on experience in human subject research and is ideal for students interested in clinical research, healthcare, or biomedical sciences.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist study staff during participant visits, including preparing forms, organizing lab supplies, and retrieving meals for fasting participants.
  • Perform accurate data entry and maintain organized study records.
  • Manage inventory and ensure study supplies are stocked and ready.
  • Process and ship biological specimens following established protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory and participant space.
  • Communicate with participants via phone for scheduling and appointment reminders.
  • Perform general clerical duties such as filing, copying, and organizing records.

Training:
All necessary training for study-specific procedures and lab protocols will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Professional communication skills, especially over the phone.
  • Interest in clinical research or healthcare is a plus.
  • CITI training - Group 1 Biomedical Research Investigator.
  • Data entry and/or biological laboratory experience.
