Purpose of the Role

The QA/QC Material Inspector plays an essential role in ensuring the integrity, quality, and compliance of all materials and equipment used within Worley's projects. This position supports Worley's purpose of delivering a more sustainable world by ensuring that all materials meet required specifications, codes, and project standards, enabling safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible project execution. The QA/QC Material Inspector collaborates across disciplines to maintain quality excellence, mitigate risks, and support the delivery of sustainable and technically sound engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspection and verification of incoming materials and equipment to confirm compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.

  • Review and interpret material certifications, test results, and supplier documentation to ensure conformity with engineering and procurement requirements.

  • Conduct detailed inspections at various project stages, including receipt, storage, fabrication, and installation, ensuring traceability and adherence to quality control procedures.

  • Identify and document any non-conformances or deviations, ensuring timely reporting, investigation, and resolution in collaboration with project quality and engineering teams.

  • Coordinate with procurement, construction, and engineering personnel to confirm that all materials are properly handled, stored, and preserved in accordance with project requirements and manufacturer recommendations.

  • Maintain and update material inspection records, traceability logs, and quality documentation to support project turnover and regulatory compliance.

  • Participate in supplier and subcontractor audits as required, verifying compliance with Worley's quality management systems and client expectations.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by contributing to lessons learned, process optimization, and knowledge-sharing activities across projects.

  • Ensure that all inspection activities are performed in accordance with Worley's safety standards and environmental policies, promoting a culture of zero harm and operational excellence.

  • Actively contribute to the development and implementation of quality systems, procedures, and digital tools that enhance Worley's data-centric approach to sustainable project delivery.

Qualifications / Skillset
  • Technical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent training in Quality Assurance, Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.

  • Significant experience in materials inspection within industrial construction, energy, chemicals, or resources sectors, with a strong understanding of QA/QC methodologies and documentation practices.

  • Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings, material specifications, codes, and standards applicable to construction and fabrication.

  • Strong working knowledge of inspection techniques, sampling methods, and quality control principles related to metallic and non-metallic materials.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and specifications such as ASME, ASTM, API, or equivalent.

  • Skilled in using inspection tools, documentation systems, and data management software to support efficient and accurate record-keeping.

  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work constructively across multidisciplinary teams and interface with suppliers and clients.

  • Demonstrated commitment to Worley's safety culture and quality management philosophy, supporting the delivery of projects that align with sustainable and responsible practices.

  • Adaptability to evolving project needs, technologies, and sustainability objectives within a global organization focused on delivering sustainable change.
