Summary

The Predictive Maintenance Department has an opportunity for a Predictive Maintenance Technician, Senior. As the Senior Tech, you will perform the most complex thermography and/or vibration predictive maintenance tests and records diagnostic results from various types of equipment. The successful candidate will be diversified in a predictive maintenance technology.



What you will do:




  • Provide technical and analytical support to Operations, Maintenance, System and Procurement Engineering departments while demonstrating the ability to accurately analyze/interpret test data results
  • Lead and execute advanced predictive maintenance tasks, ensuring plant efficiency and compliance with technical specifications through expert use of analytical instrumentation and complex testing equipment.
  • Monitor and evaluate analytical test results, troubleshoot instrumentation issues, and maintain high proficiency in calibration and method validation to support operational standards.
  • Mentor junior technicians, participate in training programs, and contribute to the predictive maintenance program by documenting valid analytical outcomes and sharing technical guidance.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Must meet the requirements of a Predictive Maintenance Tech II. [High school graduate or GED. Has three years experience in predictive maintenance technology or site maintenance qualification program (with mechanical, electrical, or I&C disciplines) or a chemistry qualification program. Must be certified to ANSI/ANS 3.1, 4.5.2. (1978)]
  • Must have complex knowledge of predictive maintenance computerized data systems.
  • Requires a thorough understanding of predictive maintenance principles, concepts, techniques, and practices.
  • Valid Driver's License Required. (This position requires up to 40% travel)

    Preferred Skills/Qualification


  • Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) or Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP)
  • Level 1 or above Infrared (IR) certification
  • Vibration Tech I
  • Basic Power Substation design, constriction, or maintenance experience.
  • Experience in line design, construction and/or maintenance.

Major Accountabilities

1) Performs the most complex predictive maintenance activities to measure plant efficiency, component condition and ensure compliance with the PVNGS technical specifications.

2) Monitor, review and evaluate analytical test results for conformance to technical and operating specifications.

3) Participate in and implement the predictive maintenance program to ensure that valid analytical results are obtained and documented.

4) Provides lower level predictive maintenance technicians with advice and guidance through cross training.

5) Maintains the highest level of proficiency in the usage, application and care of wide variety of complex test and measuring equipment and instrumentation.

6) Operate, calibrate and maintain analytical instrumentation. Troubleshoot instrumentation/methods as necessary.

7) Participate in training programs and seminars and successfully complete documented training program requirements.

CIP Requirement:

This position requires Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) access consistent with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards. The applicant considered for this role will be required to obtain and maintain CIP access for the duration of employment in this position. A full seven (7) year criminal history will be obtained through the pre-employment background check process (or, for current employees, through supplemental background check process) to fulfill the CIP access requirements. In addition, this position requires an additional background check every seven years to maintain access.

Location-Based Role:
This position requires employees to work at the (Location), with some flexibility. Flexibility will be determined with the hires employee and leadership, but the ultimate decision is the company's.
