Your Job

This person will play a key role in the implementation and ongoing improvement of our Platform Engineering practices across GP. We are looking for an experienced candidate with the knowledge and aptitude to help drive modernization, optimization, and innovation across the capabilities we're responsible for, who will challenge our internal process and existing methodologies with the aim to revolutionizing how we create value within Georgia Pacific.

This role is based in Atlanta, GA and is hybrid (three days in office per week). This person will support work both at the GP HQ Center on Peachtree St in downtown as well as at the CSC located at 1259 Seaboard Industrial Blvd NW.

Our Team

Our team manages Georgia Pacific's multi-cloud platform, focusing on modernization, cloud optimization, maintenance of cloud native workloads and edge workloads. We collaborate with engineers and leaders to address issues affecting team performance by implementing tools, processes, or products that streamline daily activities.

What You Will Do

  • Design, build, and operate Kubernetes clusters and container platforms at scale supporting multiple environments (dev, staging, production).
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
  • Develop infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Helm, or similar.
  • Monitor platform health, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with development teams to containerize applications and optimize resource utilization
  • Support critical platforms including consulting, debugging, break/fix execution, and participation in the on-call rotation

Who Are You (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience with Kubernetes, including cluster setup, management, networking, storage, RBAC, and troubleshooting
  • Experience creating and maintaining infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Helm, CloudFormation)
  • Experience managing a GitHub organization DevOps, Infrastructure-as-Code experience in GitHub Actions
  • Experience in container orchestration using tools like ArgoCD and Rancher
  • Experience in administering a cloud platform (AWS, Azure), with an emphasis on enterprise governance, support, automation and development
  • Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with NATS or similar streaming platforms (Kafka, MQTT, RabbitMQ)
  • Exposure to monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
