Sales Manager - Channel Account Management

Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Provide leadership, direction, and daily coaching to the Account Manager team to ensure achievement of sales and margin goals.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability standards for Account Managers.
  • Conduct regular pipeline reviews, sales forecasting, and business reviews to ensure consistent execution against targets.
  • Develop and implement best practices for customer management, quoting, and partner engagement
  • Support Account Managers in complex negotiations, key customer opportunities, and conflict resolution.
  • Identify skill gaps and provide ongoing training and development to enhance technical knowledge, sales effectiveness, and partner relationship management.
  • Collaborate closely with National Sales Director, Regional Sales Managers, Business Development, Application Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, and Operations to ensure alignment with cross-functional support and strategic initiatives.
  • Drive consistency in quote development, pricing strategy, opportunity qualification, and quote lifecycle management across all territories.
  • Monitor competitive trends and provide feedback to leadership on market dynamics and growth opportunities.
  • Ensure Account Managers maintain high standards of responsiveness, professionalism, and adherence to TCF Core Values.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Sales to develop and execute channel growth strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with the Business Development team to provide timely and accurate support on large or strategic opportunities (including Direct/OEM projects and complex quotes).
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the Account Manager team.
  • Lead the improvement of our quoting process and be the business advocate of the implementation of changes to IT and Sales Operations.
  • Own the change management of any internal and external of the quoting process.
  • Maintain clear communication channels and shared processes between Account Manager Team, Application Engineering, Sales Coordination and Business Development to ensure efficient handoffs and avoid duplication of effort.
  • Participate in regular joint planning and pipeline review sessions with the Business Development Manager to align priorities and resource allocation.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, transparency, and mutual support between Account Manager Team, Application Engineering, Sales Coordination and Business Development functions.
  • Ensure Account Managers understand their role in supporting BD-led opportunities while maintaining focus on core account responsibilities.
  • Manage reporting tools and metrics to measure team performance and market success.
  • Up to 30% travel to support team coaching, partner visits, and industry events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Receive and confirm quote requests from channel partners.



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in industrial or manufacturing sales; at least 3 years in a leadership or team management role.
  • Proven success in coaching and developing sales teams within a channel or indirect sales model.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing key accounts and developing strong partner relationships.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, engineered products, and technical sales cycles.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and influence others.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and capable of managing multiple priorities across a geographically dispersed team.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities; capable of using data to drive performance improvements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems (e.g., Pipedrive, Salesforce, or equivalent).
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.

As a Sales Manager you will be offered pay of $104,000-$140,000 dependent on experience. You will also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus tied to overall performance of the organization.
