About the Opportunity:

We're looking for an experienced Inspector to join our dynamic team. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a growing organization that values excellence, innovation, and integrity. As an Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance before reaching our customers. You will be responsible for performing detailed inspections of parts and assemblies using a variety of tools and techniques, interpreting engineering drawings, and working closely with production and engineering teams.

Location: Plainville, CT

This role will be onsite 100% of the time.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect product using inspection tools and equipment such as vernier calipers, height gauges, depth gauges, micrometers, cylindrical plugs and thread gauges, indicators, inspection fixtures and visual inspection on production parts, sub-assemblies, details or components prior to product shipment.
  • Perform complex geometric layout inspection using standard variable gaging and relative mathematics.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, measurement data, and non-conformance reports. Prepare First Article Inspection (FAI) packages.
  • Examine material or product for surface defects such as scratches, pits, and other surface irregularities.
  • Verify dimensional compliance of all products with drawing and customer requirements.
  • Performs in-process inspection of products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with all applicable mechanical and process related requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years inspection experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in quality inspection within aerospace manufacturing industry
  • CMM Inspection experience
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Able to use Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and other automated measuring devices.
  • Proficiency in English language, both verbal and written. Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Aerospace standards, able to interpret blueprint requirements, and GD&T principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and adept at troubleshooting quality issues.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
  • Must be able to travel between locations or to suppliers up to 25% of time.
