Role Overview:
We are looking for a QA with hands-on experience in Point of Sale (POS) testing to ensure reliable, secure, and seamless retail/restaurant transactions. The role involves validating POS functionality, integrations, and performance across hardware, software, and payment systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for POS systems.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing of POS applications.
- Test POS hardware and peripherals (printers, cash drawers, barcode scanners, payment terminals, etc.).
- Validate integrations with payment gateways, inventory systems, loyalty/rewards, and back-office applications.
- Conduct end-to-end transaction testing (cash, credit/debit, mobile wallets, discounts, returns, voids, etc.).
- Log defects, track resolution, and perform retesting.
- Support automation of POS test scenarios where applicable.
- Ensure testing aligns with compliance standards.
- Provide detailed test reports and recommend improvements.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in manual or automation testing of POS or retail applications.
- Knowledge of POS solutions (e.g., Client, Oracle Micros, etc).
- Strong understanding of retail/restaurant transaction flows.
- Familiarity with testing peripherals, network connectivity, and offline/online modes.
- Experience with Test/defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, Testrail).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience with test automation frameworks.
- Exposure to API testing for POS integrations.
- Familiarity with databases (SQL queries for backend validation).
