Service Technician

Whippany Actuation Systems is a dynamic aerospace company that designs and manufactures electromechanical actuators and control electronics for commercial and military applications. We are a leading certified repair and overhaul provider with an immediate opportunity for an entry level Service Technician to join our team. In this role you will troubleshoot, maintain and repair military and civil aircraft components, ensuring we meet our customers' stringent requirements.

In this role, you would typically:



  • Perform maintenance, including preventative maintenance and alterations in accordance with FAA part 43;
  • Troubleshoot, test, and repair electro-mechanical actuation systems;
  • Test articles and components in accordance with applicable data;
  • Initiate requisitions for stock and materials;
  • Maintain stock storage, control, segregation and identification of all items or articles;
  • Accurately complete all required documentation involved in the repair and/or testing of articles returned for service;
  • Work with Engineering and others to rectify complex customer technical issues.



We require:



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year experience in FAA part 145 Operations or aircraft component repair/overhaul
  • Authorization to work in the US



Eligibility Requirements:

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Whippany Actuation Systems will require proof of status before employment.

We would really like to see:



  • Familiarity with tools and equipment used in repair of electro-mechanical actuators
  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory and circuit schematics
  • Skills in testing, troubleshooting, disassembly and reassembly of electro-mechanical equipment
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical documentation including blueprints, manuals, technical specifications
  • Basic computer literacy including proficiency with e-mail and Internet navigation



Benefits and Compensation:
The pay rate for this position at commencement of employment is $25.50 per hour. This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement.
