Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support capability and solution definition for future space systems through various system readiness events and independent review teams.
- Support systems engineering efforts for space system acquisitions in the GEOINT mission area
- Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPT's) and Engineering working groups that will review and assess the maturity of engineering Artifacts, CONOPS, Interfaces, and Architecture products.
- Support space, ground, and enterprise teams developing architecture and requirement baselines, establishingand assessing mission capabilities, assessing system and segment schedule and risks, and supporting test and verification strategy.
- Assistin the creation of quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics.
- Ensure requirements comply withclient requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
- Assess performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
- Participate in design reviews of to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation.
- Participate in the adoption of MBSE in both customer and company domains.
- Apply the principles of MBSE to major system acquisitions.
- Assess engineering artifacts and develop models of mission systems using a MBSE tool suite that includes several system architecture modeling, workflow management, analytical, and data visualization tools.
- Facilitate and/or participatein collaborative meetings between space system subject matter experts (SMEs) and MBSE and SysMLexperts to identifyand implement modeling solutions.
Qualifications
What We Need from You (REQUIRED):
- Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- 10to 12years of related experience with a bachelor's degree or 8to 10years of related experience with a master's degree or 5 to 7 years of related experience with a PhD in SystemsEngineering or in related technical or scientific field such as engineering, operations research, or engineering management.
- Demonstrated experience relating to Systems Engineering area(s) including but not limited to: Requirements Engineering, Systems Integration, Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO).
- Demonstrated ability to identifyand solve problems to further organizational goals.
- Commitment to understand, recognize, respect, and operateeffectively within various SETA, Federally Funded Research and Development (FFRDC), and Governmental lines of authority.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills and the ability to lead/support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to support the customer's needs, clearly communicate (orally & written) ideas, work autonomously.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have (DESIRED):
- GEOINT mission expertise, particularly in the area of OPIR. Other EO and/or Radar system areas also desired.
- Experience in supporting Requirements Engineering, CONOPS development, and system integration to accommodate End to End Systems Engineering.
- Experience identifyinguser needs and gaps, identifyingpotential solutions, and assessing/analyzing alternatives.
- Experience with industry MBSE tools and modeling methodologies to successfully produce systems engineering models.
- Experience with Agile Development, SAFE Agile system development methods.
- Knowledge and practical application of UML / SysMLmodeling languages and experience applying this common structure to an MBSE solution.
- Understand how system requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation activities are enabled by MBSE across the digital thread (the engineering lifecycle). Foundational to MBSE are tools, technologies, and methodologies that can collectively be called digital engineering.
- OCSMP Level 1, 2, or 3 certifications.
