  • Scalability & Reliability: Implement best practices for monitoring, observability, autoscaling, and fault tolerance in distributed systems.
  • Security & Compliance: Partner with security teams to enforce least privilege, compliance frameworks (e.g., CIS benchmarks), and secrets management across the platform.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to platform engineers; set standards for infrastructure-as-code, GitOps practices, and operational excellence.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with application engineering, data, and ML teams to ensure the platform meets their needs while maintaining consistency and reliability.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure roles.

  • Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Cloudformation, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with GitOps principles and tools (ArgoCD, Flux).
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
  • Strong background in observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, OpenTelemetry).
  • Solid programming/scripting skills (Python, Go, or Bash).
  • Strong understanding of security best practices in cloud and containerized environments.
