Tessera is seeking a dedicated, detail-driven, and mission-minded Accountant to support the Base Maintenance Contract (BMC) at the U.S. Air Force Academy. This is a vital role for someone who takes pride in precision, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is passionate about contributing to a high-impact federal operation. The ideal candidate will bring integrity, initiative, and a commitment to excellence in financial and administrative support-helping ensure smooth operations and compliance across all facets of the contract. Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile bank and ledger accounts
- Process accounts payable and subcontractor invoices in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain financial data in Maximo and other systems; ensure alignment with contract requirements
- Assist with monthly closings and financial reporting
- Track preventive maintenance payments and credit card receipts
- Support payroll administration and employee license tracking
- Maintain base access documentation and credentialing for subcontractors
- Assist Site Manager with scheduling, reporting, and internal communications
- Coordinate onboarding and compliance documentation for staff and subcontractors
- Support special projects, audits, and workflow improvements
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism across all work environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in facilities maintenance or federal contracting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with Maximo preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Understanding of GAAP and federal acquisition regulations (FAR)
- Ability to interpret legal and financial documents
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with subcontractor oversight and contract compliance
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
