About the Role: We are looking for a skilled and experienced EMU Supervisor to lead maintenance operations at our Buellton facility. This role is critical to ensuring equipment reliability, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The successful candidate will lead a team, implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programs, and collaborate across departments to support automation upgrades and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a diverse team of maintenance technicians, ensuring high performance, adherence to safety standards, and continuous skill development.
- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs based on Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as equipment uptime, mean time to repair (MTTR), overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), maintenance backlog, and first-time fix rates to drive data-informed decision-making and operational improvements.
- Conduct thorough root cause analysis of equipment failures, breakdowns, and recurring issues using methodologies like 5 Whys and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and implement effective corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
- Lead Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S workplace organization, Kaizen events, and DMAIC projects, to streamline maintenance processes, reduce waste, and enhance team productivity.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce Standard Work procedures and maintenance best practices to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across all maintenance activities.
- Manage maintenance schedules, work orders, and records using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), ensuring accurate documentation and timely completion of maintenance tasks.
- Oversee vendor relationships, including evaluating technical capabilities, negotiating contracts, managing service level agreements, and ensuring timely procurement of quality parts and services to support maintenance operations.
- Ensure strict compliance with all applicable safety regulations (OSHA, CAL/OSHA), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), and site-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) through regular safety audits, training programs, and enforcement of lockout/tagout and confined space entry procedures.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to integrate maintenance considerations into new equipment design, installation, and commissioning, supporting Early Equipment Management (EEM) principles.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing automation upgrades and technology implementations across the facility, working with engineering and automation teams to enhance operational efficiency and equipment capabilities.
- Prepare and present detailed maintenance performance reports, project updates, and continuous improvement progress to Senior Leadership, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources for maintenance activities, building upkeep, utilities, and continuous improvement projects.
- Lead ongoing training, mentoring, and development initiatives to build a skilled, motivated, and safety-conscious maintenance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or related roles with leadership responsibilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of TPM, Lean Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, and DMAIC methodologies.
- Experience with PLC programming, servo/VFD programming, and MES tools.
- Proficient with CMMS and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience managing vendor contracts and evaluating technical capabilities.
- Knowledge of safety programs including lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and ergonomic best practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Comfortable working in varying temperature and noise environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, crouch, climb, and sit for extended periods as required.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $75,000 - $115,000 Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the base pay target range for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for short-term incentive compensation.
