Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

* Vertex is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Systems & Consolidation Manager to join our Global Accounting Team
* This role is responsible for managing the global consolidation process with a continuous improvement mindset and working closely with key stakeholders to maintain and enhance our key accounting systems and applications, such as HFM, Oracle EBS and Blackline. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about leveraging technology to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and modernize accounting processes. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Consolidation and Month-End Close:
* Management of the global consolidation process, ensuring accuracy and timely compilation of consolidated financial results
* Preparation or review of the monthly accounting transactions including journal entries, such as currency translation adjustments and FX related accounts
* Collaborate with global teams (GL Accounting, IT, Finance, Treasury, Tax) to drive accurate and timely month end close
* Performance or review of Internal Controls specific to the consolidation process

Accounting Systems and Process Improvement:
* Oversee maintenance and operation of BlackLine application, including potential expansion of additional modules
* Partner with the Information Technology team to optimize and enhance accounting applications such as Oracle, BlackLine, and HFM, including participation in testing, upgrades, and process improvements
* Identify and implement opportunities for accounting automation through tools such as Power Automate, Power BI, and partnership with the RPA Team
* Assist with continuous improvement, challenging current practices and implementing best-in-class processes and systems

Other:
* Assist with special projects and key initiatives aligned with the organization's strategic goals

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION
* Bachelor's degree in either Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Business or a related field
* Big 4 experience is preferred
* CPA or equivalent certifications are desirable

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPEREINCE:
* Typically requires 6+ years of experience in Accounting, Information Technology, or a combination of both
* Strong accounting system (especially Oracle, HFM and BlackLine) experience is preferred, however not required as training and support can be provided
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
* Proven problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
* Collaborative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
* A track record of success working in a team-based environment

Pay Range:

$120,000 - $180,000

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
