Primary Purpose:

In partnership with HR Leadership and internal lines of business, the HR Business Partner drives the execution of all components of the teammate lifecycle with a consistent focus on building a high-performing culture of growth and development through effective leadership, communication and feedback. Serves as a trusted partner to specific lines of business on key human resource functions such as teammate relations, policy and procedure interpretation, implementation of HR programs and processes, performance management, and succession planning. Serve as a liaison between corporate human resources and managers and teammates to help implement and enforce HR policies and procedures related to performance, training, discipline, benefits, payroll, and retention.

Responsibilities:



  • Manage the development, administration, interpretation and implementation of Human Resources programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Work with management on interpretation of policy and procedures for line of business.
  • Partner with line of business regarding teammate relations and disciplinary action.
  • Participate in the administration of Human Resources programs and services as it relates to teammate engagement, performance management, compensation and benefits, talent management and teammate development for specific lines of business
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of our teammates, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance; escalating to HR Leadership as needed/required
  • Support the HR team in completing other designated assignments that may have competing priorities
  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers; recommending new procedures; conducting training with managers as needed.
  • Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solutions; coaching and counseling managers and employees.
  • Completes special projects by clarifying project objectives; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling HR changes.
  • Manage all aspects of relationships for the respective area assigned and serve as a backup in other areas when needed.
  • Updates knowledge, skills and abilities by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.


Job Specifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field and/or equivalent experience; SPHR or PHR certifications preferred
  • 1+ years relevant experience as a HR Business Partner or similar role
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including employee relations, diversity, equity and inclusion, performance management, practicing knowledge of federal and state employment laws
  • Must have strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to deal with confidential information and sensitive situations
  • Proven experience coaching and counseling all levels of staff on a wide variety of issues
  • Passion for and experience with analytical and innovative HR solutions and process improvement
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with a broad spectrum of teammates, management, senior and executive leadership.
  • Ability to travel (20%)
