The Sr. Director, Global Data Services will report to the VP, Enterprise Applications (Apps & Data) and lead a global team of Data Engineers, Analysts and Data Scientists that are responsible for unlocking and simplifying Nutrien's world class data assets across a complex landscape. Acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner, the Sr. Director will work closely with global IT teams and business leadership across all Nutrien's business units to ensure our data architecture, analytics and master data platforms, and information management practices collectively enable a "One Nutrien" perspective on data. This role is pivotal in driving Nutrien's data integration, management and analytics to unlock business value. The Global Data Services team is responsible for Nutrien's Unify data lake and related data platforms that harmonize datasets from disparate systems, spearhead enterprise data governance and quality programs, and accelerate the adoption and use of data to drive business decisions. What you will do:
- Lead a Global Team of Data Architects, Scientists, Engineers and Analysts responsible for the Data Architecture, Modelling and Platforms required to sustain Nutrien's data assets.
- Accountable for Robust and Secure technology platforms supporting the global data function. This includes technology and platforms supporting Data Management, Analytics and Reporting, Integration and data stores.
- Enable Enterprise Reporting throughout the organization through the effective consolidation of Nutrien Data via enterprise Data Models, and ensuring timely loading and replication of the data through Extract Transform and Load (ETL) and Extract Load and Transform (ELT) and other integration techniques.
- Develop and maintain a multi-year Strategic Data & Analytics roadmap aligned with Nutrien's corporate & business strategies, partnering with Data Stewards in the various functions and segments of the business.
- Lead the strategy and operation of Nutrien's Unify Enterprise Data & Analytics platforms to harmonize data across 18+ ERP systems and 100's of other source systems, continue building a single source of truth for analytics and reporting.
- Drive Data Architecture & Integration: Provide direction for enterprise data architecture and integration initiatives. Oversee data engineering teams in designing scalable data pipelines and integrations between internal and external sources, enabling seamless data flow across Nutrien's complex landscape.
- Enable Reporting & Analytics Excellence through delivery of standardized, high-quality rapidly extendable Data Models that meet both global and regional business needs.
- Lead the enterprise architecture function, reviewing new solutions and ensuring appropriate reuse of existing capabilities when solving for business needs.
- Accountable for the Reliable Operation and continuous improvement of Nutrien's data environments and analytics services. This includes ensuring high availability and performance of data pipelines, warehouses, and BI platforms for end-users; managing data security and access controls in line with Nutrien's data protection standards.
- Accountable for the Financial and Resource Planning for the Global Data Services function (both sustaining operations and project investments). Optimize the use of third-party services (including managed support) to maximize results with optimal costs.
- Recruit, develop, and inspire a high-performance global data team. Provide clear direction, mentorship, and opportunities for growth to a diverse team of data architects, engineers, analysts, and data scientists.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning in emerging data technologies.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business or a related field. An advanced degree such as an MBA or a Master's in Data Analytics/Information Management is preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in IT and data-related fields, including at least 10 years in leadership roles managing large-scale data, analytics, or IT programs.
- Deep knowledge of enterprise data management principles and best practices - including data architecture, integration, master data management, data quality, and data governance.
- Demonstrated ability to define and execute a strategic roadmap. You can balance "big picture" thinking with disciplined execution
- Strong understanding of how data and analytics drive business outcomes. Track Record of partnering with multiple business domains (e.g. Finance, Operations, Sales, etc.) and have a working knowledge of processes, enabling you to translate business needs into data solutions.
- Proven leader capable of building and sustaining high-performing teams. You have led sizable, geographically dispersed teams including internal employees and contractors or service providers.
- Solid understanding of compliance and security considerations related to data (e.g., data privacy regulations, SOX controls for financial data).
- Strategic and Innovative Mindset: Ability to balance the big picture with day-to-day execution. You can craft a compelling long-term vision for enterprise data and analytics, and also translate that into achievable plans and actions.
- Strong understanding of business intelligence, analytics, and modern data technologies. You are well-versed in the tools and techniques of data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and visualization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large, geographically dispersed teams comprising internal employees and external contractors/partners/service providers, and to get results in a matrixed environment.
- Innovative and continuously scan for new opportunities or better ways to leverage data (for example, new data sources, advanced analytics methods, or process improvements) to drive business value. A track record of introducing new ideas or technologies that delivered measurable improvements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You can engage effectively with both technical teams and non-technical senior executives. You're able to translate complex data concepts into business terms and articulate the "why" behind data initiatives, building buy-in and understanding.

Compensation & Benefits: The salary range for this role, in Loveland, CO, is between $177,600-$304,400. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location. We provide an attractive benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage, and life insurance and well as disability coverage for positions working more than 30 hours per week.
