About this role

As a Business Resilience Associate Director, IT Consulting, you will oversee project delivery and client relationship management for engagements focused on organizational resilience, business continuity, disaster recovery, and cyber security strategy. You will lead teams as an engagement manager, ensuring deliverables are completed on time, and help design the scope and structure of projects that protect and empower client organizations.

What you'll do

  • Oversee consulting engagements in business resilience and cyber security, including budgeting, scoping, and designing project roadmaps to align with timelines and objectives.
  • Lead the development of high-quality deliverables such as presentations, technical documents, resilience plans, cyber security assessments, and quantitative models.
  • Build credibility with client management, proactively managing client expectations and setting standards for engagement teams.
  • Develop and test engagement hypotheses related to resilience and cyber risk, identifying and teaching problem-solving techniques.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback and coaching to project teams.
  • Leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance resilience, preemptive cyber security, and risk management solutions for clients.
  • Facilitate client interviews and workshops, focusing on business impact analysis, minimum viable architecture, and minimum viable company strategies.
  • Meet utilization and sales targets.
  • Mentor junior associates and participate in hiring.
  • Apply technical expertise in business continuity, disaster recovery, resilience, business impact analysis, minimum viable architecture, and minimum viable company.
  • Demonstrate strong client-facing and communication skills in all interactions.

What you'll need

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • 8 years of extensive experience in business resilience, cyber security, digital business, IT strategy, or operating model consulting.
  • Experience within a well-regarded management consultancy in project delivery; sales experience is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a problem-solving capacity such as a solution/technical architect or analyst preferred.
  • Experience working with multiple IT or Technology solutions (such as Cloud, ERP, HRM, or cyber security platforms).
  • Proven expertise in business continuity, disaster recovery, resilience, business impact analysis, minimum viable architecture, and minimum viable company.
  • Familiarity with AI's impact on resilience, preemptive cyber security, and risk valuation (FAIR methodology).
  • Track record of leading high-performing teams that leverage technology and research to drive mission-critical priorities in commercial or government entities.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate professionals from both technical and non-technical backgrounds toward a common goal.
  • Strong commitment to team success, with willingness to provide constructive/corrective action when needed.
  • Intellectual curiosity and creativity in developing solutions and strategies for client problems, adapting Gartner frameworks and methodologies to address business resilience and cyber security challenges.
  • Ability to manage multiple client priorities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable influencing and building trust-based, value-added relationships with senior executives, both internally and externally.
  • Coachable and embracing of best practices and feedback as a means of continuous improvement.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 136,000 USD - 165,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
