Position Summary:

Are you a morning person looking for fresh tracks? How about a weather enthusiast with a knack for writing? Schweitzer is seeking outgoing snow reporter with a passion for winter sports to produce daily early morning snow, weather and activities report. Schweitzer's snow reporter will work 3-4 days per week.

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:
  • Gather information from the mountain operations teams including groomers and ski patrol as well as our local weather station and National Weather Service.
  • Develop early morning snow, weather & activities report to prep skiers and riders for their day on the slopes.
  • Contact radio stations and other necessary channels to help get the word out.
  • Arrive before 5 a.m. to establish an accurate description of conditions to publish on Schweitzer.com, record on snow phone, and share with radio stations, create daily email of report, and distribute to other on-mountain departments.
  • Accuracy in reporting is imperative.

  • Make coffee
  • Other duties as assigned

Specific Job Skills:

License/Certifications - None

Technical - Basic computer and technology skills. Use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Voice Recording App, and Mountain Powder for website reporter.

Physical Capabilities - None

Additional - Bus service and other department shuttles are not in service this early, so you will need to have reliable transportation to get to work for this early shift.

Education/Related Experience:

Minimum education required - High School Diploma or GED

Minimum time in related position - Ski and Snowboard experience is preferred
