Support moderate scale companywide initiatives and network wide projects for the McLane Retail distribution centers related to cost reduction and productivity improvements.

This position is located in Temple, TX, and will require the candidate to report and work from our corporate office in Temple, TX. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius.

What you'll do as a ISE, Continuous Improvement:

  • Create and Manage Project Scheduling with internal and external project teams.
  • Implement and maintain engineered labor standards across all McLane DCs through time study methods and interaction.
  • Support multiple distribution center requests to update or create engineered labor standards.
  • Train DC teammates on engineered labor standards and labor management systems.
  • Configure, implement, and support McLane's labor management systems in all DCs.
  • Update and align Standard Operating Procedures with Corporate Engineering and DC Operations.
  • Partner with DC Operations to reinforce consistent process execution and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assess and optimize processes and equipment within the facility and region to support business needs.
  • Engage senior operational and engineering leaders, stakeholders to gain alignment on implementation plans and success metrics.
  • Maintain current and accurate documentation of systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications you'll bring as a ISE, Continuous Improvement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering preferred, other applicable degrees with accompanying experience will be considered.
  • Four or more years' experience as a regional or on-site industrial engineer required.
  • Experience with Engineered Labor Standards, time and motion study methods is required.
  • Experience with Manhattan WMOS and LMS or JDA/Red Prairie WMS and LMS (preferred).
  • Experience with distribution facility layout, racking layout and design (preferred).
  • Understanding of distribution center operations to include receiving, selection, replenishment, routing and dispatch.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to advocate for and present recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced office and warehouse environment in a professional manner.
  • Self-starter who has prior engineering experience in industrial engineering or material handling facilities with an ability to communicate and interact with multiple cross-functional levels of the organization.
  • A results driven demeanor, be a self-motivator and possess a proven ability to continuously improve processes and annual metrics.
  • Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Project.
  • Experience with Statistical Analysis and Operations Research a plus.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.

Working Conditions:

  • Office and Warehouse environment.
  • This position is expected to travel up to 75%.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely.
  • This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role.
  • The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
