Your role

Roles and Responsibilities
CREDIT & ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE
o Provide recommendations to Management regarding the maintenance and implementation of a full credit policy that properly balances sales and risk management goals. Assist in maintaining internal documents that identify established procedures and policies governing the overall credit control function of the Company.
o Evaluate, and with Management support, develop, implement, and maintain systems and operational credit procedures at the corporate level.
o Assist the Regional Business Controllers relative to credit policy, collection issues, and reporting. Concentrate on billing and collections by providing guidance in collection techniques to provide accelerated accounts receivable recovery. Strongly focus on credit and collection activities to optimize revenue, improve cash flow, and strengthen the Company's financial position.
o Direct management of assigned Accounts Receivable Portfolios and Credit Control; also serve as backup for US local Regions or Divisions as required.
o Supervise receivables staff as assigned.
o Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies that enhance Credit Controls and efficiency. Identify system or software improvements that reduce cost and accelerate credit decisions with consistent accuracy - remain a pivotal member of implementation, documentation, and training.
o Manage relationships and liaise between external vendors - collection agencies, attorneys, financial institutions, systems providers, etc. to maximize the broad value of their contributions to the Company.
o Recommendations to Management on handling of very large delinquencies/defaults/bankruptcies with personal, active involvement as required. Recommend and implement any adverse actions as required.
o Support Regions on formulating special credit terms or workout repayment structures for troubled customers.
o Act as liaison for ASAP for various BPCS accounts receivable system developments and enhancements; to ensure proper controls and functional efficiency.
o Support internal and external audits related to accounts receivable.
o Financial reporting as required.


EQUIPMENT FINANCING


o Work with internal or external lender partners to establish and maintain procedures for the re-sale and funding of monthly financed sales, yearly exceeding $2-4MM; with an objective to optimize the benefit of financing and increase sales.
o Manage operational function to assist sales with package financing applications to ensure completeness and accuracy for highest level of underwriting efficiency. Support risk management policies of the lender.
o Develop new financial offerings (special offerings, floor plans, etc.) through lending partners (with minimal risk to CC) and market those to Company sales staff.
o Supervise financed receivables staff.
o Establish procedures for insuring the proper filing of security interest for any affected sales.


SALES TAX


o Ensure operational compliance with US Sales & Use Taxes. Includes Tax Management system oversight and maintaining accuracy of Company invoicing with regard to sales tax.
o Liaise between Holding Company and Local Accounting and Credit staff with regard to communication and education on state taxation rules and regulations.


OTHER


o Manage the Company's Merchant Credit Card programs, including pricing and systems, as well as Data Security Compliance for multiple locations throughout the US.
o Provide Company standards and guidelines for use and issuance of Letters of Credit/Bonds.
o Monitor billing accuracy and troubleshoot problem areas for resolution.
o Support the integration of any acquired or merged companies as needed.
o Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience
10+ years' experience of credit operations in the financial services or manufacturing industry with expertise in a broad range of commercial credit systems, collection (small to large ticket), secured lending, and a strong understanding of all related accounting and legal concepts. Strong capabilities for risk management, business and operational processes, internal auditing, financial reporting and other internal controls, and regulatory compliance.

Education
Bachelor's Degree in business management, accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience.


Skills
o Proven ability to manage large accounts receivable portfolio and maintain adequate risk controls.
o Lease/Finance principles and installment credit contracts, security agreements, and other associated documentation.
o Credit Card and Electronic Payments Processing and related banking concepts and data security standards.
o Proficient in broad range ERP systems for Accounts Receivable and Credit management as well as PC/desktop applications.
o US Sales Tax - broad understanding of rules and regulations.
o Letters of Credit/UCP.
o Strong skills in Uniform Commercial Code - specifically in perfection of security interest and construction liens and Miller Act.
o Good judgment in all business contexts.
o Strong leadership skills including the ability to handle stress, analyze numbers and manage time and people.
o Strong overall communications skills, polished presentation skills.
o Energetic, detailed oriented, able to adhere to deadlines.
o Strong skills in negotiation & reconciliation as well as strong problem-solving abilities.
o Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management internal and external.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Atlas Copco) in Rock Hill, SC.
