The University of Arizona's Steward Observatory invites applicant's for the position of Program Coordinator. This position will be integral in providing the occupants of the Drake building with top notch facilities in which to perform their ground breaking research. Key priorities for this position will be on-the-ground initiation, coordination and follow-up of building and security efforts. The position will also involve communication, coordination and data handling, tracking and reporting for the Steward Facility and Safety Teams which impact the Observatory as a whole. Duties & Responsibilities |
- On-site communication and support for Drake facility, custodial, security and safety efforts. The position will involve daily walking of the building and grounds, reporting and scheduling facilities/safety needs and acting as a point of contact with the researchers in the building and the Steward Facility/Safety Team. Providing direct administrative support to the daily functions of the FSS team.
- Assist with inventory, inventory data systems, surplus and tracking equipment loans, maintaining and organizing records. The position will collect and enter data as part of their clerical duties.
- Assist with safety reports, documentation, and follow-up. Perform safety checklist items (such as posting signs, updated first aid kit supplies, checking emergency lighting, filing monthly forms for AED, Stop the Bleed kits).
- Schedules and attends meetings to provide or obtain information for the FSS Team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of program and/or building coordination.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of maintaining institutional and departmental data and tracking systems.

Minimum Qualifications |
- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
- Prior work experience not required.
