Job Requirements and Responsibilities:

The Clinical Pharmacy Manager is responsible for the development, supervision, and evaluation of clinical pharmacy services, subject to the review and approval by the Director of Pharmacy. Such services are to be in accordance with evidence-based medication use processes and current practice standards. The Clinical Pharmacy Manager will collaborate with other clinical departments within WRMC to support a multidisciplinary approach to patient care and ensure that all activities of the department are consistent with overall hospital objectives. The Clinical Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for coordination of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee and will organize the elements of implementation of all P&T approved initiatives. The Clinical Pharmacy Manager will oversee the educational programs of pharmacists, residents, and students, and will assist with interdisciplinary education within the facility. The Clinical Pharmacy Manager will collaborate with UHS Corporate Clinical Pharmacy Services. The Clinical Pharmacy Manager will work in conjunction with the Director of Pharmacy to assure compliance with all state and federal regulatory and accrediting agencies. The Clinical Pharmacy Manager will work with the Director of Pharmacy on planning, implementation, and evaluation of departmental performance improvement activities and medication safety actions. The Clinical Pharmacy Manager may be called upon to perform departmental staffing duties as needed.

Provides clinical pharmaceutical care to patients. Serves as expert, professional resource to service areas and Pharmacy Department. Leads a team in a designated area of practice and will be responsible for mentoring, supervising, and evaluating employees. Work requires strong clinical skills, detailed knowledge of hospital processes/operations, and the application and interpretation of Federal and Commonwealth statutes, laws and regulations. In addition, work requires understanding and application of professional practice, organizational and departmental policies, standards and procedures. Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead. Verbalizes stroke alert process. Serves as a member of the Stroke Committee. Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the annual 2 hours online training.

Current pharmacist license in the State of Florida.

Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy required.

Completion of a Pharmacy Practice (PGY-1) Residency or equivalent experience required.

At least 3 years clinical hospital experience required.

Competence required in providing pharmaceutical care for neonatal (including NICU), pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Experience with chemotherapy preparation and patient evaluation/monitoring required.

Leadership experience in planning and setting direction for a department is preferred

Functioning knowledge of Cerner computer programs and Microsoft Office preferred
