Short Intro and About the Job

The Upstream Milk Manager plays a critical role in managing the flow of raw milk from farm to plant, ensuring supply continuity, quality compliance and cost efficiency. This role is central to coordinating logistics, procurement and supplier relationships across Danone's network with a focus on operational excellence. This role does require On-Call nights and weekends.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Liquid Tanker Flow Management

    Ensure Danone plants have milk and other liquid products they need to meet production
  • Use Ever.ag software to communicate with the plants, haulers, suppliers any changes that need to be made and that receiving windows are assigned correctly
  • Sell/buy excess or additional product based on plant direction
  • Ensure all milk handling and transportation adheres to the safety, regulatory and quality standards set within industry and internal Danone standards
  • Use historical data to determine trends and KPIs

Supplier Engagement

  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and haulers to ensure reliable supply and contract compliance
  • Provide suppliers with KPIs and manage attainment reports and performance reviews

Operational Coordination and Collaboration

  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to align milk supply with production needs
  • Develop strong relationship with manufacturing locations to ensure quality compliance and supply continuity
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support the broader milk strategy
  • Driver process improvements

Data and Systems

  • Create Purchase orders, manage hauler payroll and maintain accurate reporting for stakeholders
  • Ensure timely supplier and hauler payments to preserve supply continuity and relationships

Project Planning, Analysis and Execution

  • Support project timelines by coordinating key stakeholders and tracking open items
  • Work with other team members to ensure project success and tracking
  • Analyze data and help perform tasks needed to complete projects

The salary range for this position is $79,000-114,000 USD. The exact salary offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate's relevant experience, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions. About You

Preferred Candidate Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in logistics or supply chain

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced Excel Skills, experience with SAP or other ERP systems and experience with transportation planning software
  • Flexibility to support after hour's needs - field phone calls from haulers, plants or regulatory agencies and provide directions to the appropriate entity on disposition and destination of loads. Includes weekends and holidays
  • Ability to influence and achieve results through those not directly managed.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and non-verbal
  • Office machinery includes computers, printers, fax machines, copiers, telephones, etc.
  • Software including SAP, SAP APO, Excel, PowerPoint
