Overview

CAES by Honeywell's San Jose location is currently seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer (I) with experience in a manufacturing environment to join our team. This role will be responsible for collaborating cross-functionally to address process problems and implement improvements to support our operation. If you are passionate about solving problems, we'd love to hear from you! This role will require you to be onsite on a daily basis.


Responsibilities

  • This role will be split 50 / 50 between supporting thin film substrate production and supporting health safety and environment (HSE) team
  • Thin film areas that will be supported include metal deposition, saw cutting, mechanical & chemical cleaning, photolithography, plating, and final inspection
  • In safety, the engineer will support writing up work instructions, completing compliance tasks to support regulatory requirements, and overseeing the site's safety training programs
  • Part of the role will be to run engineering tests focused on yield improvement or labor reduction of production processes and qualifying new machines for production
  • Both roles will require taking a hands-on approach to evaluating defects, working with operators and addressing safety concerns
  • Improve processes based on statistical analysis and by applying process controls
  • Train operators and write work instructions to document key process steps
  • Complete ergonomic assessments, chemical compatibility or similar analysis to keep the site safe. Will also include doing safety Gemba walks to identify issues and corrective actions to fix

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or materials science with a minimum of 6 months of manufacturing experience
  • Must have demonstrated ability to make improvements to a manufacturing process or oversee some aspects of a site's safety program
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance

Preferred:

  • Excellent communication skills are required to work with a wide variety of people, including design engineers, project engineers, and manufacturing personnel

Salary Range: Process Engineer I: $89,000-$95,000 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
