Williams-Sonoma, Inc. has 9 brands under our company umbrella and offers the opportunity to gain experience cross-brand and cross-function.

This role will be part of Pottery Barn Kids, which includes strong merchants and cross-functional team members. We have a tenured leadership team who is passionate about our categories and customers' life stages as well as team growth and success.

The assistant buyer will be helping manage the largest department within PBK - Bedroom Furniture.

About the Role

In this role, you will report to a Buyer and oversee a range of products. We are looking for someone who is excited to jump in and learn about the business and is equally as excited about the analytical and creative parts. The role is extremely collaborative - you will work with almost every role in the brand. We are in search of someone who can jump from one task to another quickly and efficiently, and someone who is excited about working with a fun and energetic group!

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for SKU setup/SKU maintenance
  • Responsible for handling all pricing (promotions, markdowns)
  • Responsible for sample management
  • Have a huge focus on Merchandising: Enter and maintain all price and cost changes for DTC and Retail, working closely with inventory partners and sourcing teams.
  • Communicate as needed with the merchandise team in regards to project and sample status, costing/SKU worksheets.
  • Set up and maintenance of all SKUs for stocked and dropship product.
  • Connect with global merchandise teams and create global-specific SKUs.
  • Update SKU details as the assortment changes on the individual and collection level.
  • Enter POS Markdowns and Promotions.
  • Manage samples for photo shoots and seasonal presentations and work with our photo and warehouse teams to track sample positions as needed.
  • Track and open packages and samples; coordinate movement of merchandise to sample rooms.
  • Assist in monthly retail floor sets.
  • Prepare analysis as directed
  • Take on general administrative duties

Criteria

  • You have 1+ years in retail buying or related experience

  • You have a bachelor's degree
    You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint) and love learning new systems

  • Demonstrate flexibility, initiative and the ability to work independently on multiple projects in a fast-paced, resulted driven environment

  • You have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and work in a team environment

  • You have strong organizational, prioritizing, analytical, problem solving and time management skills to ensure all deadlines are met

  • You have detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and an ability to detect inconsistencies in data

  • You are enthusiastic about the idea of being in merchandising and working with an awesome team!

  • This role requires being onsite in the San Francisco office Monday through Thursday and Friday as optional in the office

The expected starting pay range for this position is $27-$31/hourly . Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
