Land Surveying Intern

Loureiro Engineering Associates is seeking a Land Surveying Intern to join our Land Surveying team in Plainville, or Groton CT. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting land surveying and civil site development projects. From your first day, you'll work alongside experienced surveyors and engineers, applying classroom knowledge to real-world projects that support land development and infrastructure improvements.
This is a paid internship.

This opportunity is ideal for studentswho are eager to grow their technical skills and gain practical experience in surveying and civil engineering.

• Assist experienced survey field staff with topographic and boundary surveys, route surveys, stream surveys, and construction stakeouts

• Gain exposure to progressive technology, including robotic total stations, GPS, UAS (drone), and LiDAR scanning

• Learn to collect survey data and search for boundary evidence while working in a variety of terrain and outdoor conditions

• Perform physical field tasks such as setting stakes and monuments, clearing brush, and hiking

• Utilize surveying software to gather, retrieve, and interpret data, and perform basic survey computations

• A motivated and detail-oriented student looking to gain hands-on experience

• A collaborative team member with a willingness to learn

• Adaptable, reliable, and eager to contribute to meaningful projects

• Junior, senior, or graduate-level student in Civil Engineering or a related field

• Minimum 3.0 GPA

• Strong understanding of civil engineering fundamentals

• Prior internship experience in land surveying or a related discipline is a plus

• Physical ability to work outdoors under varying environmental conditions

• Willingness to travel occasionally as project needs require

• Valid driver's license
