CAD Designer

SWCA Environmental Consultants is an industry leader in natural resource permitting and ecological restoration. We are seeking a Staff CAD Designer to join our team and support a wide range of environmental initiatives across the U.S. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with Project Engineers and Scientists on innovative projects that make a difference.

This is a regular, full-time, hourly position with the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States. Candidates located near one of our SWCA offices may also enjoy a hybrid work environment.

• Support the implementation and maintenance of company-wide CAD standards.
• Produce CAD products for natural, cultural, paleontological, and other environmental resource projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Incorporate attributes from diverse data sources, symbolizing features, and manage file imports/exports across various formats.
• Create production and field maps based on metadata, data sets, and geo-databases.
• Utilize feature lines for site grading and earthwork balancing.
• Perform earthwork volume calculations.
• Assist field crews with GPS-grade surveying and data collection.

Minimum requirements:

• Associate's degree in Geography, Cartography, CADD Drafting, GIS Technology, or a related field with an emphasis on GIS (or GIS/CADD certificate).
• At least two (2) years of experience in CADD/GIS technology, field data collection techniques, data integration to CADD/GIS, and troubleshooting equipment and digital files.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience with ArcGIS 10.0-10.1 and AutoCAD Map 3D.
• Previous experience in natural or cultural resources management, remote sensing, or permitting is a plus.

SWCA is committed to salary equity and transparency. In alignment with this commitment, we post good faith pay ranges in all job postings. An employee in this position can expect an hourly pay rate of $30.50 to $39.59/hour. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law. Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
