Responsibilities

Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Assistant Staff Project Manager to join our team. This role performs specific field tasks assigned per project by more senior staff. Your growth in responsibility will come with time and experience. This work will be field based with limited office work as experience is gained. An ideal candidate presents a positive customer service attitude and understanding of ECS Core Values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interact and collaborate with staff members on a variety of projects
  • Attend project meetings with senior staff as requested
  • Interface with contractors and other site personnel on project sites daily
  • Keep supervisor informed of changing site conditions and/or additional testing requested on project sites.
  • Scheduling, training and oversight of environmental technicians.
  • Initiate project set up and implementation under the direct supervision of senior staff
  • Basic knowledge of federal, state and local wetlands regulations and guidelines and their implications on findings and conclusions in studies.
  • Work with senior staff to develop an understanding of the relation of field observations and sample results to findings and conclusions in the report
  • Assist on wetland and natural resource projects
  • Assists Staff PM with generating pre-field mapping; assists with NR field work under supervision of Staff PM or above. GPS operation and collection. Map generation from field data collection under supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other Engineering degree applicable to Environmental Consulting, Natural or Environmental Science, Geology, or other degree relevant to the practice of Environmental Consulting

  • No experience needed

  • If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required

Skills and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of environmental principles and applications.
  • Basic knowledge of permitting processes, environmental regulations, and environmental test methods
  • Interest in project management, consulting, and business development.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds a number of times each day and walk on uneven ground through various terrains.

The expected pay range for this role and location is $23-$27/hour. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
