Viracon LLC Research & Development Internship - Summer 2026 Owatonna, MN Pay Range: $22 - $25 per hour About Viracon Viracon is a global leader in architectural glass, shaping skylines with innovative products used in some of the world's most iconic buildings. As part of Apogee Enterprises, we are dedicated to innovation, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement. What You'll Do As an R&D Intern, you'll collaborate with experienced engineers and scientists to support product innovation and testing. Responsibilities may include: Assisting in material evaluation and new product development. Designing and running experiments to provide solutions to technical challenges. Leading studies in the lab, creating lab samples, and running trials to evaluate material performance. Developing test procedures for current and new products. Working with suppliers to stay updated on new materials and technologies. Assisting with analyzing field failures and proposing preventative solutions. What We're Looking For Junior standing (Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field) at a 4-year college, GPA 3.0+. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to design, carry out, and document experiments. Self-starter with curiosity for innovation and product development. Strong communication and teamwork skills. This internship provides hands-on lab and production experience, mentorship from industry experts, and the opportunity to contribute to the next generation of Viracon products.
