Job Summary:
Responsible for supporting and maintaining the physical layer of the voice and data network infrastructure, including copper and fiber cabling, Cisco telephony systems, and Cisco network switches. Duties include assisting with system upgrades, installations, maintenance, and repairs to ensure reliable connectivity and optimal performance. The role requires flexible availability and strong analytical troubleshooting skills to quickly diagnose and resolve voice and network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum reliability.

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
Base hourly pay range: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour
Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks (other duties may be assigned):
- Troubleshoot and resolve Layer 2 connectivity issues, including switch port configuration, and VLAN membership problems.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, ARP, ICMP SNMP, and others.
- Conduct site surveys and collaborate with department stakeholders to plan and coordinate new or upgraded cabling and telecommunications equipment.
- Maintain and support the Cisco Call Manager VoIP/analog telephone system.
- Install, test, maintain, and repair telephone and network physical layer infrastructure, including 66/110 punch-down blocks, RJ45 and RJ11 wall jacks and other wiring for various networking, signaling, and communication systems.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with analog (POTS) lines, twisted-pair Ethernet, and fiber infrastructure using network diagnostic tools and standard hand tools.
- Organize and clean existing wiring closets; identify, label, and trace analog telephone lines.
- Maintain accurate telephone line termination records, hardware/software inventories, warranty records, and cabling documentation.
- Install and troubleshoot security and marketing cameras across diverse indoor and outdoor environments.
- Support network requirements for events, including setting up temporary access points, switches, and fiber/Ethernet cable runs.
- Use the work order system to evaluate, assign, prioritize, and document issues and resolutions.
- Create and update technical procedures and workflows in the corporate knowledgebase (Wiki).
- Assist the Systems and Help Desk teams during peak operational periods and special events.
- Work flexible hours as required for system maintenance outside of normal business operations.
- Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.

Education and Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related discipline, and at least two years of network and/or telephony experience.
- Solid understanding of structured cabling standards and network wiring principles.
- Skilled in complex cable pulling and precise cable terminations.
- Proficient in the safe and effective use of hand tools, power tools, and specialized testing equipment for network and telecommunications installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Knowledgeable in configuring and troubleshooting both VoIP and analog telephone systems.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in telecommunications and networking.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cisco telephone systems.
- Experience with Cisco, Meraki, Ruckus, and/or Ubiquiti UniFi network equipment.
- Experience with Ubiquiti point-to-point wireless radios.
- Familiarity with tools like SolarWinds, Wireshark or other network diagnostic and monitoring solutions.
- Understanding fiber optic cabling, testing, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) CompTIA Network+ or other relevant certifications.

Sits for extended periods of time at a computer station or work desk; stands and walks regularly throughout the day; uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment for up to 8 hours each day; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds for up to 50 feet in potentially extreme weather, exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outside weather conditions.
Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the work place is usually moderate.
Equipment Used in Job: Typical network wiring equipment (crimpers, cutters, toners, cable testers, lineman's handset, etc), various software, hardware and computer equipment.
