Job Overview
The role of the Shipping and Receiving Clerk is to provide day-to-day warehouse support for our Chesapeake VA location. Work Model: Onsite
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Verifies materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and any damages.
- Processes received in the automated inventory management system.
- Routes and assigns material to storage locations.
- Perform storing, stacking, and palletizing of materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, ensuring locations are accurately noted in the automated inventory management system.
- Takes inventory of stored materials to identify discrepancies.
- Operates motor vehicles, forklifts, and/or other equipment as needed.
- Assists with file maintenance, workspace cleanup, and reconciliation of delinquent and outstanding orders.
- Manages the storage of Government-furnished equipment.
- Prepares shipping documents and packaging of material to be shipped.
- Responds to inquiries regarding inventory, disposition of material, and receiving requests.
- Complete dairy logs from Commercial Deliveries.
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
- 5 years plus of Warehouse worker or Military equivalent experience.
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, regulations, requirements, and skills.
- Other Duties as assigned.

- We expect this employee to be knowledgeable in basic warehouse operations.
- We expect this work to be conducted in a timely and professional manner.
- We expect the employee to be a self-starter and to pursue self-education.
- We expect the employee to keep the manager and supervisors apprised of their progress, maintain the ability to work well with others, adhere to contract requirements, and comply with company policies/procedures as well as government processes.

- Good organizational and time management skills
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Must be eligible for secret clearance.
- 5 or more years' experience in or with government warehouse operations.
- Must be knowledgeable in operating Microsoft Office and other business software.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
Preferred:
- Maximo, CMPro, and CAV experience are highly desired and may be used as a discriminator in the selection process.
- One Touch experience is a plus.
- Forklift license.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work outdoors and in a warehouse
- Must be able to tolerate heat and cold
- Comfortable working around exposures to hazards.
- Occasional travel may be necessary.
- Occasionally will be required to pick up material from a Commercial business
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stoop, bend or squat.
- Must be able to climb on a ladder.
- Must be able to wear safety shoes daily.
