At Rite-Hite, your work makes an impact. As the global leader in loading dock and door equipment, we design and deliver solutions that keep our customers safe, secure, and productive. Here, you'll find innovation, stability, and the chance to grow your career as part of a team that's always looking ahead.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

Rite-Hite Digital Solutions delivers industry-leading logistics and IoT software solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and operational outcomes within warehouse, distribution and manufacturing environments.

We are seeking a Software Product Owner to join our software engineering team and help drive the success of the Rite-Hite ONE platform. In this role, you will work at the intersection of business needs and technical execution, ensuring that development teams have clear priorities, actionable requirements, and the context they need to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

Partnering closely with Product Management, Software Developers, and DevOps, you will translate strategic direction into executable user stories, maintain and prioritize the software backlog, and champion the voice of the customer throughout the delivery process. Your work will enable our teams to move quickly, stay aligned, and deliver meaningful value to our customers.

The ideal candidate brings deep agile product ownership experience, strong technical fluency, and a passion for solving real-world problems through modern digital solutions.

This role offers the opportunity to directly shape solutions that drive safety, efficiency, and innovation for some of the world's most critical industrial environments.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Translate product vision and high-level requirements into clearly defined epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Own, manage, and prioritize the product backlog to maximize customer value, business impact, and technical sustainability.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Product Management, Software Engineering, DevOps, QA) to ensure alignment and delivery of high-quality increments.
  • Act as the primary day-to-day voice of the customer within agile squads.
  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives).
  • Validate software deliverables, support release readiness, and manage rollout strategies such as phased or A/B deployments.
  • Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to continuously gather feedback and refine backlog priorities.
  • Champion data-driven decision-making through metrics, KPIs, and iterative validation.
  • Promote a collaborative and high-performing team culture, focused on outcomes, speed, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, education technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, Agile Delivery Lead, or equivalent role, with proven success delivering and supporting software products.
  • Ability to engage deeply with engineering teams on topics such as modern web applications, RESTful APIs, IoT architecture, cloud infrastructure (GCP/AWS), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business terms.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with a bias toward execution and delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities and make effective trade-off decisions.
  • Experience working in scaled agile environments (e.g., SAFe).
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) and/or foundational cloud certification (GCP, AWS, or Azure) preferred.
  • Familiarity with SOC and ISO compliance standards.
  • Experience with IoT, logistics, or manufacturing systems is a strong plus.
