Procurement Manager

CB Mining is an independent family-owned corporation that is growing. Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Washington, PA, CB Mining focuses on product support for Longwall mines. Established from part of the Caterpillar mining group, CB Mining has grown from 2 locations in Washington, PA to now 4 locations, with additions in Marion, IL and Tuscaloosa, AL, We provide customers with rebuild services, CST gearbox rebuilds, welding and fabrications services, service exchange units, custom made cabling solutions, life cycle services including oil sampling and vibration analysis, robust inventory support, compatibility services and underground technical support. We also provide extensive machining, chroming, laser cladding, and hydraulic repairs through our valued partner Cleveland Brothers. Position Summary:

This salaried position is an integral role within the leadership team of CB Mining. The position's responsibilities will include, but not limited to, operational oversight of the Procurement Team, vendor management, and sourcing aftermarket parts and products in an efficient and economical manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage, mentor, and develop the Procurement Team, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Facilitate open communication with Procurement Team, cross-functional departments, and management to ensure transparent communication.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with overall business goals.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with customers, employees, sales staff, vendors, and internal departments at CB Mining.
• Manage vendor relationships, prices, delivery schedules and address issues as they arise.
• Provide support to call center customers and CB Mining sales department.
• Identify and establish new potential vendors and including vendor set-up in ERP program.
• Effectively communicate with CB Mining AP department for vendor products.
• Utilize strong negotiation skills to secure items at the best price, minimizing lead time, and maximizing availability.
• Maintain visibility on order requisitions to ensure expedient turnaround and delivery.
• Lead special projects, analysis, and benchmarking.
• Research back-order parts and communication of ship dates. Correct grieved orders.
• Maintain vendor forecasts for parts to identify vendor candidates for long term vendor relationships.
• Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams regarding procurement procedures.
• Develop and maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
• Assist in managing inventory levels and reconciliation from a purchasing perspective.
• Provide effective communication to internal customers and management.
• Technical aptitude of purchase products, such as hydraulics, gearing, and electronics.
• Become a key user of the NAXT ERP software program.
• Ensure safety, values and all company policies are followed.
• Other duties as required by CB Mining.

Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

• Previous leadership experience including driving a positive company culture of teamwork and collaboration
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Demonstrable ability to lead and manage a team.
• Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management role, including leadership and developing team capabilities.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and experience in modern procurement system implementation, Microsoft D365 experience preferred.
• CPR / First Aid Trained or willingness to be trained.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Previous relationships with major vendors a plus.
• Technical knowledge of underground Longwall and Room and Pillar market a plus.

About Us: Founded in 2013, CB Mining is a family-owned company that was divested from Caterpillar. It started with 89 employees and 1 location, that historically focused on customer support, underground Technical Service Reps, Longwall AFC, BSL, and Crusher rebuilds. Today we have 2 locations in Washington, PA, Marion, IL, and Tuscaloosa, AL where we continue the legacy on superb customer support for both Longwall and R &P underground mining.
