Operations Accounting Supervisor

The Operations Accounting Supervisor, based in Cranberry, PA, will be the lead finance and accounting position for multiple manufacturing plant and distribution center locations as part of The Pittsburgh Paints Company and will manage the following activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Standard Costing:
  
  
  
  • Lead quarterly re-cost process to update standard costs for locally manufactured finished goods products, products outsourced to other facilities and tollers, raw materials, and packaging inventory.
  • Annual calculation of conversion costs and labor rates.
  
  
  
  
• Manufacturing and Distribution Budget and Cost Analysis:
  
  
  
  • Annual preparation of the manufacturing and distribution budgets via detailed cost analysis and meetings with department heads to drive cost savings.
  • Collaboration with senior management to establish manufacturing and distribution strategies and opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Analysis of monthly manufacturing and distribution performance and KPI's.
  
  
  
  
• Work with the Plant to lead annual physical inventory and reconciliation process.
• Management of the Recoverable Assets process to identify and drive action on slow moving raw materials and finished goods.
• Support of internal accounting controls:
  
  
  
  • Preparation and review of journal entries.
  • Account Analysis.
  • Internal Controls and Standard Procedures.
  
  
  
  
• Direct reporting to the Manufacturing Finance Manager
• Provides support to business units while working closely with the Plant & DC Manager, PPC Supply Chain Leaders and PPC Finance leadership.
• Ad hoc reporting, operations reporting, and project work as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field with 8+ years of accounting or related experience
• Prior cost accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Outstanding Excel knowledge required.
• Strong communication and leadership skills required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• SAP ERP and costing experience, preferred.
• Travel quarterly to plant sites
