Position Summary - Staff Accountant / Corporate Accountant
The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing monthly accounting functions, preparing financial statements, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting the Director of Finance on projects. This role requires a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and collaboration across multiple teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain general ledger, reconcile accounts, record transactions, and prepare monthly financial statements for multiple companies.
- Manage fixed asset accounting (depreciation, additions, disposals) using Sage FAS.
- Prepare cash flow projections, sales/inventory reports, and other specialized reporting.
- Coordinate and assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
- Research and apply multi-state sales and use tax laws, registrations, and compliance.
- Reconcile and report Flex Spending program transactions.
- File annual state reports and maintain Registered Agents.
- Approve and record bank transactions.
- Assist Director of Finance with audits, surveys, and special projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred (Associate's + equivalent experience accepted).
- Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience with emphasis on general ledger.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (strong Excel skills).
- Experience with ERP software.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written/verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to confidentiality and sound judgment.
