Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB's Water Resources group is growing across New England, and we're looking for a Water Resources Engineer to join its dynamic team of Water Resources specialists in Bedford, New Hampshire. We're looking for an early- to mid-career Water Resources Engineer to work with our existing water resource group and support our work in the areas of stormwater management and design, hydrology and hydraulics analysis, flood mitigation and management, culvert and bridge design, and resiliency efforts, among others. Our work supports public and private clients with resilient and sustainable solutions to their water resources challenges using innovative approaches.

Responsibilities:

    Work within a team of professionals in developing site civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of environmental, land development, transportation, and water resources projects
  • Conduct a wide array of water resources related studies and analysis including: Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of stormwater systems, riverine and coastal hydraulics, analysis and design of conveyance and treatment systems, and floodplain analysis
  • Analyze and design structural stormwater treatment measures
  • Prepare reports for stormwater and hydraulic analyses and designs
  • Conduct data collection and field work

Skills And Abilities

  • A passion for innovative problem-solving.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to think critically
  • Strong computer skills with AutoCAD and GIS experience desired
  • Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis desired

Qualifications

  • 1-3+ years of civil/ environmental engineering experience
  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Ability to perform field work and travel to project sites
  • EIT preferred
