Our Test Systems Engineering team in Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Systems Engineer to join them. This hybrid role reports to the Systems Engineering Section Head in East Aurora, NY.

Moog's Military Aircraft Group is a leader in integrated flight control solutions and actuation systems for military aircraft across the U.S. and global markets. Our Test Systems Engineering team plays a critical role in ensuring the performance and reliability of these systems by designing, building, and verifying the specialized test equipment used to validate our flight control components.

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to contribute to the full lifecycle of test system development from requirements gathering and conceptual design to integration, verification, and delivery.

As a Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Collaborate directly with customers to understand technical needs and translate them into system requirements.

  • Develop and document test system specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), and signal maps.

  • Perform architecture analysis and design trade studies to define optimal system solutions.

  • Create integration checklists, verification plans, and calibration procedures.

  • Validate system concepts through modeling and analysis.

  • Support system-level integration and testing, including troubleshooting and anomaly resolution.

  • Ensure compliance with performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support system architecture decisions.

  • Mentor interns and provide technical guidance to engineering technicians.

  • Contribute to proposal development, including technical content and cost estimation.

  • Document all phases of the engineering process with clear, concise reports.

To be considered for this role, you typically will bring:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Software or Systems Engineering.

  • At least 2 years of engineering experience, preferably as a member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team.

  • A strong foundation in engineering principles and practices.

  • Excellent communication skills for interfacing with both internal teams and external customers.

  • A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

It would be great if you also had experience with:

  • Test equipment specification, design, integration, and verification

  • dSPACE or National Instruments real-time systems

  • MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape or Amesim software

  • Electro-hydraulic or electro-mechanical servo-mechanisms

  • Closed-loop control systems/theory

  • IBM Rational DOORS

  • MBSE/SysML

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $75,000.00-$105,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
