About the Role

Are you ready to lead mission-critical IT applications in one of the most advanced and secure industries on the planet? We're seeking an experiencedIT Applications Managerto oversee the strategy, development, and lifecycle management of enterprise applications supporting ourSpace and Defenseoperations.

In this role, you'll bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and high-stakes business operations-ensuring our systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with the unique demands of aerospace and defense programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the delivery of the SDG solutions backlog. Understand and monitor team throughput and burndown to improve delivery estimates and injects predictability into the delivery process.
  • Collaborate with SDG business partners and business analysts to clarify delivery requirements for strategic delivery priorities. Develops and maintains key partnerships with colleagues in corporate IT to efficiently and effectively manage dependencies.
  • Leads the technical architecture for critical application and data platforms within SDG.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for application, development and data delivery initiatives within the team.
  • Leads, coaches and develops a group of highly skilled technical delivery resources within the team.
  • Maintains SDG solutions and applications in accordance with ITIL and service management methodologies.
  • Oversee application lifecycle management, including upgrades, integrations, and decommissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., ITAR, DFARS, NIST) and cybersecurity standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Lead key technical and architectural decisions for the team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degreein Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 7+ yearsof experience in IT applications management, with at least3 years in aerospace, defense, or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP, PLM, MES, and other enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Siemens Teamcenter).
  • Proven leadership in cross-functional project delivery and stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements in the defense sector.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.

Preferred Certifications

  • PMP, ITIL, or Agile/Scrum certifications

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $150,000.00-$165,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
